SOPA Announces 2014 Awards for Editorial Excellence Finalists
Accolades for Best Journalism in Asia for the 16th year
Hong Kong, May 22, 2014 – The shortlisted finalists for SOPA 2014 Awards for Editorial Excellence were announced today. 676 entries were rigorously assessed by a panel of more than 100 judges from around the world including journalists, editors, columnists from leading publications as well as notable academics from the media departments of prestigious universities.
The SOPA Awards for Editorial Excellence are stepping in the 16th anniversary to honour the outstanding achievements and contributions of distinguished media practitioners. Having been widely regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the publishing industry, SOPA 2014 Awards for Editorial Excellence has 19 award categories and each category is divided into three groups according to the circulation, region of publication and language. In addition, there are 2 more new award categories for all media to join this year, which are “Excellence in Reporting on Women’s Issues” and “Excellence in Digital News”.
Winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday evening 11 June, 2014.
The SOPA 2014 Awards for Editorial Excellence is supported by Invest Hong Kong (Gold Sponsor), Hong Kong High Technology Limited (Silver Sponsor) and K11 as Supporting Sponsor. Golin Harris is the public relations partner while The Langham,Hong Kongis the official hotel partner.
