SOPA Week in Taipei — October 31 to November 4, 2025

From October 31 to November 4, 2025, SOPA Week was held in Taipei in collaboration with National Chengchi University (NCCU), marking the first edition of the event in Taiwan. The Distinguished International Forum on Journalism brought together three international SOPA Award winners: Patricia Kowsmann of The Wall Street Journal, Qianer Liu of The Information, and Kathrin Hille of the Financial Times, alongside Taiwan’s award-winning journalists De-Lin Fang of The Reporter, Lauly Li of Nikkei Asia, and Silva Shih of CommonWealth Magazine, to exchange insights on investigative reporting, cross-border journalism, and editorial innovation.
The forum provided journalists and students with a platform to examine complex reporting landscapes, build credibility in global media, and discuss emerging challenges such as generative AI, cross-cultural storytelling, and advancing diversity in newsrooms. Through workshops, presentations, and roundtable discussions, SOPA Week reinforced its mission to foster journalistic excellence and strengthen professional networks across Asia.
